The National Health Insurance Company, Daman, honoured the winners of this season's "Super11", an initiative by Daman aimed at addressing childhood obesity by taking awareness of the initiative into schools.
Now in its second year, the initiative uniquely involves a tournament whereby the 11 most talented individual players are crowned champions irrespective of their team's performance.
In addition to being rewarded with six months of training at Al Wahda Football Academy, the 11 young champions took part in a special training camp with German football legend Karl-Heinz Korbel, who holds the national record for most appearances in the German Bundesliga with 602 games.
The soccer legend is currently heading the Eintracht Frankfurt Football Academy.
The Super11 were given legacy blazers, which is a tradition between professional football players, to celebrate being inducted into the Super11 and their excellent performance during the football tournament held last December.
During the screening tournament, football experts from Al Wahda continuously assessed the players based on their skillset, attitude and winning spirit
