Bahrain International Circuit (BIC), "The Home of Motorsport in the Middle East", invites both race fans and thrill-seekers alike to enjoy a unique experience in BIC’s widely popular Open Track activity. The next Open Track is scheduled to take place Saturday (February 8) in Sakhir. Open Track offers the unbelievable chance of driving one’s very own road car or motorbike around a world-class motor racing facility. This can be enjoyed on Saturday along BIC’s 5.412-kilometre Grand Prix track – the same circuit raced on by some of the world’s leading international series such as Formula One and the World Endurance Championship. Open Track is run to the highest of international safety standards, making for the perfect environment for drivers to push their cars or motorbikes to their very limit. The choice of enjoying either a full day’s drive or a half-day’s participation is available to all who are wishing to take part. A full-day’s activity costs BD85 and lasts from 9am to 4pm. The half-day option offers a choice between two sessions – the first takes place from 9am to 12pm, while the second lasts from 1pm to 4pm. Each half-day session costs BD60. Before the activity begins, all vehicles must first be inspected to ensure that they are fit to participate. BIC’s highly qualified professional driving instructors will then conduct a briefing to discuss the safety, driving rules and techniques, circuit information, and the handling of emergency situations while out on the tarmac. Meanwhile, visitors to BIC who are looking for other kinds of unique motoring experiences can also enjoy either a ride in an ultra-fast, ultra-light Caterham or in a Land Rover LR4. Both activities are also available on Saturday. The Caterham passenger ride gives race fans a chance to enjoy hot laps around the BIC track while a highly skilled professional driver takes them around in the 160bhp Caterham race car. In the Land Rover LR4, clients will be taken down BIC’s 5.3-kilometre off-road course, which features more than 30 tantalising obstacles. Each ride costs BD12 per person. For more information on the availability of such events during BIC’s Open Track event on Saturday, or to make an advanced booking, call the BIC Hotline on +973-1745000 or visit the circuit’s official website, www.bahraingp.com.
