Egyptian swimmer Farida Osman has been given the green light to take part in the Olympic Games in London, Al-Ahram daily reported on Friday. The promising Osman achieved an Olympic Standard Time last April in Holland that put her on a standby invitation list. There was confusion over whether she will be eligible to participate in the Olympics but the International Swimming Federation (FINA) has given her the go-ahead to feature in the London Games, Al-Ahram added. Osman won the 50m butterfly gold medal at the FINA World Junior Swimming Championship in Peru last year. She also won seven gold medals at the Arab Games last December in Qatar. ahramonline .
