Egypt coach Diaa El-Sayed congratulated Ahly defender Wael Gomaa for his performance during the 2-1 victory over Japan's Sanfrecce Hiroshima in the Club World Cup game, Sunday. "Gomaa is a key player in Egypt and Ahly squad as he has a high fitness," El-Sayed was quoted as saying on a television programme after the Sunday match. "Gomaa saved Ahly's defense throughout the game and he did his best to stop the Japanese side's attackers," he added "God save Gomaa." "I hope Ahly will snatch the Club World Cup title as it will support the national team that have more players from the Reds' squad," the Egypt coach concluded. The Pharaohs, under the helm of American manager Bob Bradley, will not play a competitive game until March because of the halt in domestic football after February's Port Said tragedy. Egypt will host Zimbabwe in a qualifier for the 2014 World Cup in a first competitive match. From ahramonline
