All the matches of the Algerian professional and amateur championship, scheduled on 29 and 30 August, are postponed to a later date in homage to the Cameroonian attacker of JS Kabylie, Albert Ebossé, who died Saturday after being fatally struck by a projectile, the Algerian Football Federation (FAF) announced on Sunday evening.
"All the matches of the championship of amateur and professional leagues, all classes scheduled nationwide for the weekend of August 29 and 30 are suspended and postponed until a later date, in homage to the Albert Ebossé and also to protest against the irresponsible actions of some fanatics and hooligans who make violence in stadiums. This violence reached unacceptable proportions," FAF said on its website.
This decision was made by FAF's president, Mohamed Raouraoua who consulted with members of the Federal Bureau, the same source added.
Besides, FAF announced that it will "shortly discuss other coercive measures that may disqualify the offending club from any competition."
