The 2014 Doha Open Boxing Championships came to an end at the indoor hall of Qatar Sports Club on Wednesday.
Organized by the Qatar Boxing Federation (QBF), the event aims at preparing a new generation of Qatari boxers as Qatar is to host the 2015 World Boxing Championships.
The QBF Assistant Secretary General Ahmad Ismail Al Zeyara was delighted by the level of the tournament.
“We are looking for youngsters who can take up this sport seriously. Anyone who we feel has the talent, will be given full support by Qatar Boxing Federation to enhance their profile as boxers,” said Al Zayara.
