Bahrain Athletics Association Chairman Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al-Khalifa has today paid tribute to Bahraini women for their dedication to honour Bahrain in international arenas. He hailed Bahraini women athletes for their landmark achievements in the GCC, Arab, Asian and international sport tournaments, giving directives to promote their role on equal footing with their fellow sportsmen. Shaikh Khalid was speaking as he attended the 3rd edition of the GCC Women Athletics Championship , being held in Bahrain until March 13. He honoured the winners of the shot put competition, including Bahraini Noora Salem Jassim who clinched the gold medal. Shaikh Khalid pledged to promote the status of Bahraini women as players, administrators or coaches, wishing Bahrain Athletics team success in forthcoming sport competitions. From BNA
