Foreign Minister Shaikh Khalid bin Ahmed Al Khalifa toured the Olympic Village last Thursday, accompanied by Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) Secretary General Shaikh Ahmed bin Hamad Al Khalifa and Bahrain International Circuit Chief Executive Shaikh Salman bin Isa Al Khalifa. He visited the village’s various facilities as well as the residence of Bahrain’s mission where he met its members and got assured about their conditions and readiness for the tournament. He listened to a briefing by the mission’s Head Saud Al Ghanim on the preparations made by the mission’s management to provide all needed facilities for the members to take part in the sporting event. He praised the Olympic Village’s various and modern facilities, describing the Olympic Games as an honourable civilizational facet for the whole world, sending messages of love, peace and friendship among all people by bringing together thousands of athletes from all over the world. On his part, the BOC Secretary General thanked the Foreign Minister for the visit which, he said, reflects care for the Bahraini athletes despite his preoccupations and big role in running Bahrain’s foreign policy competently.
