The Supreme Council for Youth and Sport (SCYS)'s Secretary-general Sheikh Salman bin Ibrahim Al Khalifa congratulated His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa the First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council of Youth and Sports (SCYS) and President of the Bahrain Athletics Association (BAA) on winning the African Leadership Award for most innovative sports event.
Sheikh Salman bin Ibrahim considered His Highness's winning to award a confirmation of the prestigious position His Highness occupies in the regional and international sports arena and an embodiment of his excellent ideas and initiatives which contribute in the advancement and progression of sports activities and the dedication of sports in the service of humanitarian works.
The SCYS's Secretary-general said that the new award constitutes an international recognition of the value of His Highness's initiative of swimming 24 hours non-stop from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the Kingdom of Bahrain which will always be a bright example of dedication to the principles of willpower, persistence and of investing sports for charity purposes.
Shaikh Salman bin Ibrahim Al Khalifa affirmed that the winning of His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad of the new award gives clear clue for the importance of implementation of specific initiatives which contribute in spreading noble concepts for the sports movement and serving all components of the community.
