A ceremony will be held tomorrow (Friday) evening to honour Bahrain gold, silver and bronze athletics medalists, under the patronage of Supreme Council for Youth and Sport (SCYS) and Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) President Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al-Khalifa. The ceremony follows an invitation from (SCYS) First Deputy Chairman and head of Bahrain Athletics Association (BAA) Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al-Khalifa. The Bahrain Athletics Association is organising the event at the Sofitel Bahrain Zallaq Thalassa sea & spa. Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al-Khalifa seized the occasion to commend the Bahrain Athletics Association for the landmark sport achievements in 2013 in different GCC, Arab, Asian and international championships. He paid tribute to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al-Khalifa for his support, commending the wise leadership for promoting the sport movement in the Kingdom of Bahrain. He took pride in the outstanding performance in different GCC, Arab, Asian and international championships, urged Bahrain athletes to spare no efforts to preserve and consolidate gains.
