Al Sadd sports club confidently claimed the title of the prestigious Qatar Stars League 2012-2013 , following their 2-2 draw with their nearest rivals Lekhowiya SC in the 22rd round’s match (last round) held at Jassim bin Hamad stadium of Al Sadd SC on Thursday. Thursday’s match braced Al Sadd SC to bag 51 points at the top of the league standings ahead to Lekhowiya SC who managed in the runner-up place holds (46 points). Al-Sadd’s striker, Hassan Al-Haidous opened scoring in the 26th minute, as his teammate Ali Asadullah cemented Al Sadd lead in the 35th minute to end the first half 2-0. In the second half, Lekhowiya SC displayed better performance and mounted pressure over Al Sadd , where Sebastian Syria successfully netted in the 47th minute before his teammate Yousef Al Masakni equalized for Lekhowyia in the 61th minute. In the second playoff, Al Rayyan SC recorded a narrow 2-1 victory over El Jaish, likewise Al Wakrah made convincing 2-1 victory over Al Arabi SC in the third playoff. Source: Qatar Olympic Committee
