Ten men Leverkusen carved out a 3-2 win over Dusseldorf while Aaron Hunt's brace was enough to beat Mainz 2-1 to close the 10th round of Bundesliga on Sunday. The "Werkself" showed their superiority from the start against newly promoted Dusseldorf. It took 16 minutes for Leverkusen to open scoring, as Sidney Sam exploited an assist by Stefan Kieling to beat Dusseldorf goalkeeper Fabian Giefer with a lob from sixteen meters. Leverkusen controlled the proceeding on the pitch but Dusseldorf leveled the game through Nando Rafael, who headed home a corner for the equaliser five minutes before the break. Only one minute later, Leverkusen responded with the 2-1 lead by Andre Schuerrle, who utilised a rebound to slot home from five meters. At the 65th minute Leverkusen' s Simon Rolfes weakened his side when he was sent off with a straight red card, after two minutes on the pitch, following a rude foul.
