Documentary film “Fidai” Algiers - Hocine Bousaleh Documentary film “Fidai” by French-Algerian director Damien Ounouri will open the fourth edition of the Berlin Arab Film Festival. The festival will be held from November 5 to 11. A total of 39 films will be screened, including: short, long, documentary and feature films from Egypt, Iraq, Lebanon, Palestine and Jordan. Some of the films include “Awdat el-Ebn el-Dal” (Return of the Lost Son) for Egyptian director Youssef Jahin and “Gharb Beirut” (West Bierut) for Lebanese director Zyad al-Dowery. The Arab film festival in Berlin was founded in 2009 with an aim to portray a different image about Arabic societies away from the common stereotypes. The Festival this year will include films produced in the last three years as well as an awards ceremony with several prominent names in Arabic cinema.
