His Highness Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, condoled the death of the noted Tunisian actor and director Moncef Souissi who passed away last Sunday.
Paying tribute to Souissi, H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed described him as a "talented artiste who devoted his life to serving the causes of his Arab nation and promoting values of knowledge, interaction and fraternity".
Souissi's death was considered a huge loss to the Arab theatrical and cultural arena, he added.
"He helped make theatre an art for ethics and ambitious visions, necessary for building a strong Arab future," H.H. Sheikh Sultan said.
Souissi had directed three of H.H. Sheikh Sultan's plays, including The Nimrod, The Black Stone and Turgot
