Al Azhar Grand Imam Ahmed el Tayyeb mourned on Thursday the victims of a Pakistani plane that crashed earlier while en route from Chitral to Islamabad.
In a press release, Tayyeb offered his condolences to the Pakistani government and people as well as the victims’ families.
Earlier, a Pakistani plane crashed near Abbottabad in which all 47 people on board were killed.
The Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) said Flight PK-661 was carrying 42 passengers and five crew members when it lost contact with a control tower on its way from Chitral to Islamabad. It crashed into the mountains near Abbottabad and Havelian.
