Al Azhar and Grand Imam Ahmed el Tayyeb on Friday condemned the killing a Palestinian toddler and seriously injuring of four other family members after Israeli settlers burnt their house in the Palestinian city of Nablus.
In a press statement on Friday, Al Azhar said such heinous crimes occur only with the blessing of the Zionist occupation authorities that incite further abuses against unarmed civilians.
Al Azhar also strongly condemned the terrible silence of the international community and human rights organizations on crimes committed against the Palestinian people that violate divine laws and international norms and conventions.
The statement also warned against the policy of double standards and called for an urgent solution that achieves the rights of the Palestinian people to establish their independent state with Al Quds as its capital.
Al Azhar called for an urgent Arab and international action to protect the Palestinian people from the Zionist occupation's arrogance.
Earlier on the day, Israeli settlers killed a Palestinian toddler and injured four others after setting their home ablaze near Nablus in the occupied West Bank.
