Zahi Hawass & Will Smith
Cairo - Akram Ali

The former Minister of Tourism and the famous archaeologist, Zahi Hawass, said that the visiting of international dignitaries, such as the American superstar Will Smith and other celebrities, contributes to the promotion of tourism and activating it  in the coming period through the publication of this news in the international media, adding that this is the best way to promote tourism.

Hawass explained, in an exclusive interview with Arabs Today, that the Pharaonic monuments are the first of tourist attractions, even going to other tourist destinations such as Sharm El Sheikh, Hurghada and others, pointing to the stability of security in Egypt during the recent period, and the need to exploit this in the foreign media.

The famous archaeologist called the need to clarify the true picture about Egypt in the world, where it has become a safe and stable country, stressing that tourism is the most important resource of national income in Egypt, and it must promote it globally, and the exploitation of investment projects, and educating children about the importance of tourism within the curriculum .

Concerning the visit of the global actor, Will Smith to Egypt recently, Zahi Hawass stressed that the visit of Hollywood star is a best proof that there are many who want to visit Egypt from their love of Egyptian Pharaonic civilization and not for the money like what happened in the visit of the player, Lionel Messi.

Hawass stressed that Will Smith impressed by sunrise on the face of the Sphinx, remained screaming from the horror of the scene who did not see it before, pointed out that he knows the international actor Will Smith since 2006, and asked him before to visit Egypt.

He stressed that Will Smith assured him that Egypt is safe, contrary to what is reported abroad that it is not safe, and they should correct this stereotype   to attract tourism again.

Hawas added that one of the most important differences between the American star and Barcelona star, is that Messi was not interested in the information that was telling to him about the pyramids and the Sphinx, while Will Smith gave a great interest to the information.
