Akram Khouzam
Damascus - Arabstoday

Akram Khouzam Damascus - Arabstoday   Akram Khouzam expressed his astonishment to "Arabs Today" regarding what Syrian media has said about his intention to form a political party in Syria. In an exclusive interview to "Arabs Today", he said "Propagation of such news by "Cham FM” and Syrian news is quite strange, and I disclaim it indefinitely.” He added: "I tried to find out the source of propagation of this news, but I couldn't, and I thought to myself: ‘How can the media propagate such news without going to the person who the news is about first?’ And it’s not out of doubt but to make sure that the story is true, especially that I work in Media, and I don't intend to go to any kind of party regardless of what it is.” A prominent source confirmed to some websites that "Syrian figures are seeking to establish the first Syrian party authorized under the new law stated a few days ago, and are thinking of naming it the Democratic Justice Party,” which was categorically denied by Khouzam on his Facebook page. In regards to the current crisis in Syria, Khouzam said that "any military solution in any country will not be able to provide a solution to the existing problems, especially that the current crisis in Syria, which the regime admits is their fault, is very great, and the use of force by the regime against demonstrators makes solving this difficult.” HE stressed that the only way to come out of this crisis is to immediately stop all violence. Khuzam also said that "if there are armed gangs in Syria, the regime has the primary responsibility for how those gangs and weapons entered the country." furthermore, Khouzam considered the reforms which were adopted in Syria recently as “excellent,” except that they weren’t implemented, noting that when the Lift off Emergency Law was passed, people were very optimistic; but that wasn’t applied either. The lesson is in the quick and immediate implementation of these laws, especially in a country like Syria.” Talking about the new Media Law bill, he said: "I will keep my opinions to myself about this topic, because I haven't yet seen its content. When I found out that the operators are former managers of the Ministry of Information and Syrian television I was really surprised, because in my view we must give the chance to new people outside of the narrow bureaucratic and partisan frameworks.
