Beirut - George Shahin

Daher and Walid in past days Beirut - George Shahin Legal and administrative sources at the Lebanese Broadcasting Corporation (LBC), have told Arabstoday, that there is no judicial confrontations expected between the Saudi Prince Walid bin Talal, the biggest Arab partner of LBC, and the corporation's Chairmain, Sheikh Pierre Daher. Meanwhile, the sources revealed that negotiations are ongoing behind the scenes, to settle the controversies that took place between the two men and caused the split between the local broadcasting section of the corporation, and the satellite international broadcasting. Pac-Lebanon, a company owned by Prince Walid which produces most of LBC's main shows, has reportededly informed the Labour Ministry in Lebanon about its intention to dismiss 397 employees due to financial problems facing the company. Those 397 employees were not paid their March salaries, while it is expected that Sheikh Pierre can't sustain hiring more than 250 of them, so that leaves about 150 of the corporation's employees jobless. Starting from Tuesday April 10, the LBC satellite channel has been broadcasting from Egypt, while the Pac-production shows' broadcast has been halted on the local channel. That includes some main shows suck as  Ahla Galssa, Helwet Beirut, Nharkom Said, Top Chief, and Star Academy. As the controversy between both parties are yet to reach the courts,  sources say that there is still hope that it will be settled amicably.
