Three people were injured Friday when a truck carrying liquefied petroleum gas crashed into a Bangkok bridge and exploded, authorities said. Flames rose more than five stories and several explosions blew out the windows of houses, the Bangkok Post reported. It took more than six hours to put out the fire. One of the injured suffered serious burns and was taken to the intensive care unit at Petcharavej hospital. People living near the crash site were evacuated. The truck had been carrying about 1,056 gallons of liquefied petroleum gas. Police said an inspection of the truck after flames were extinguished found all the gas had evaporated or been burned. The truck was removed with a crane. Wallop Suwandee, Bangkok deputy governor, said the petroleum gas level in the area had been measured and was not dangerous.
