Egypt goalkeeping coach Ahmed Nagy, stressed he told Egypt's goalkeeper Essam El-Hadary , that his appearance at the last African Championships is quite different from the current Gabon the 2017 African Cup of Nations, stressing that Egypt qualified to Afcon’s final thanks to El-Hadary.
"El-Hadary played the last championships in the normal age for goalkeepers, but he plays at the age of 44 years in the ongoing competition, what representing a great challenge to him," Nagy said in an exclusive interview with Arabs Today. He pointed out that Essam Al Hadary represents the reputation of Egypt, the team and the coaching staff, but we trust in his abilities and his insistence that appears in training and matches.
His performances, in this age, and consistency thrust him into our choices, describing him as leader and example for the players, Nagy added.
Concerning Sherif Ekramy crisis, Nagy said there is a big misunderstanding in this issue, and media created a crisis from nothing, everything is normal and natural and I did not mean to accuse Sherif Ekramy of evading from the team. He is a very a distinctive goalkeeper, Nagy said.
