Coach of Egypt’s Ahly football team Hossam Al Badry
Cairo - Arab Today

Coach of Egypt’s Ahly football team Hossam Al Badry said that he has not decided whether the team will participate in the Arab tournament scheduled to be held from July 22 to August 5. He said that he gives priority to the interests of his team at the expense of any other factors.
He added, in a statement to “Arabs Today”, “The decision to participate in the Arab Championship is subject to many considerations. The tournament will increase the pressures on the players before the group stage of CAF Champions League and the competitions of Egyptian Cup.”
He added that the participation in the Arab Championship will deprive the players of the team from taking any break between the current and coming seasons, saying that it would affect the performance of the players during the coming season.
He said, “I will meet with the club’s President Mahmoud Taher to discuss the different possibilities over the participation in the championship and to give the final decision whether to participate or not.” He did not rule out the possibility of withdrawal from the championship, saying that all options are available. He stressed that they give priority to the CAF Champions League
