Palestinian prisoners in Israeli prisons on Sunday decided not to receive representatives of the international Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) who are expected to visit all Israeli prisons on Thursday.
This comes within their rejection of the committee’s decision concerning decreasing the visits of the prisoners’ families to one instead of two times a month.
In a press release, the Palestinian prisoner’s club said the prisoners will also return back their meals.
The prisoners also urged their families and human rights organizations to hold a sit-in in front of the ICRC headquarters in all Palestinian provinces in coincidence with their escalation.
Palestinian reports say that Israeli forces have detained 7,000 Palestinians in 22 various prisons and jails.
Meanwhile, Detainees' and Ex-detainees' Affairs Commission said administrations of the Israeli prisons increased their repressive measures exercised against all prisoners supporting prisoner Bilal Kayed who is on a hunger strike for 40 days.
Kayed, member of the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP), started a hunger strike after he was referred to administrative detention for additional six months. Kayed was detained for 14 and half years in Israeli prisons.
