President of the Palestinian Journalists' Syndicate Nasser Abu Bakr said that the Palestinian delegation, who will participate in the Media Freedom Conference in Casablanca on May 2-4 May, will post the participants on Israel's grave violations against the freedom of opinion and expression in the Palestinian lands.
The conference, titled "Supporting Media Independence and Fundamental Freedoms in the Arab Region", is a good opportunity to talk about the occupation's serious violations against journalists in Palestine, Abu Bakr said.
The issue of the continued detention of Omar Nazzal, a member of the syndicate's general secretariat, by Israel will be also discussed at the conference, he added.
Co-organised by MedMedia, with the support of the government of Norway, UNESCO, Friedrich Ebert Stiftung, Union to Union and the International Federation of Journalists, the event will be hosted by the Moroccan Syndicate of Journalists.
It will bring together 100 participants including journalists, trade-unionists and journalism teachers as well as representatives from organizations established to uphold media freedoms and national human rights commissions from the Arab World and beyond.
