Tehran - FNA

A senior Iranian legislator repeated the country's willingness to continue talks with the West, but meantime, reiterated that any negotiations should be held based on mutual respect. Member of the parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Esmayeel Kosari made the remarks, addressing a Seminar on Geneva deal (inked by Iran and the world powers in November) attended by students and professors of Islamic Azad University from in the Northwestern city of Khoy. Kosari underlined the need to continue talks with the Group 5+1 (the US, Russia, China, Britain and France plus Germany), saying, "We support negotiations with the US and west but the two sides should respect each other." The US and West intend to keep bullying on Iran and each time they create obstacles on the way of implementing the Geneva deal, he said. They want to materialize their illegitimate demands but they certainly fail to do so, Kosari said. Iran and the Group 5+1 clinched a long-sought deal in November in the Swiss city of Geneva. The two sides have agreed to stage-by-stage implementation of the interim agreement reciprocating one another since January 20. The accord requires the West to ease some of the existing sanctions in exchange for Tehran’s confidence-building measure not to develop the national nuclear program for a six-month period.
