The three major dailies Tuesday focused on Israeli forces’ fatal shooting of three Palestinians near Hebron.
They said Qasem Jaber, 31, Ameer Juneidi, 22, and Yousef Tarayrah, 18, were shot dead by Israeli soldiers outside Kiryat Arba settlement, illegally built on Palestinian lands to the east of Hebron, after they allegedly carried out a car-ramming and live fire attack against Israeli troops at the scene.
The dailies focused on the nomination of Nadav Argaman as the chief of the internal security agency Shin Bet. Aragman is known as the mastermind of assassinations of Palestinians.
The three dailies also focused on the State of Palestine becoming a member of Permanent Court of Arbitration by a majority of 57 votes, and the objection of the US.
The dailies also reported on the opening of Arab Advisory hospital by President Mahmoud Abbas. Al-Hayat Al-Jadida quoted Abbas as saying: “We should share bread, and shouldn’t divide [our] homeland”.
Al-Ayyam and al-Quds reported that secret meetings between Israeli and Palestinian officials were held last month, aiming to examine the possibility of handing over control of certain Palestinian cities to the Palestinian Authority, and the subsequent redeployment of Israeli forces.
Al-Ayyam quoted Israeli daily Haaretz that “Palestinian reservations” and “Israeli preconditions” have obstructed the talks.
Al-Quds said that Israeli authorities notified to demolish Palestinian-owned homes in al-Isawiya and Beit Hanina, two outskirts of Jerusalem.
Al-Hayat Al-Jadida reported that an international campaign was launched to demand the release of the youngest Palestinian prisoner Dima Al-Wawi.
