At least 12 people were killed and 40 others wounded in twin bombings that rocked Syria's central province of Homs on Thursday, state news agency SANA reported.
A car bomb and a booby-trapped motorcycle went off at the town of Mukharam al-Fukani in the eastern countryside of Homs, said the report.
SANA said huge property losses were caused by the blasts, stopping short of identifying the exact target of the bombings.
It added that the Islamic State (IS) group and the al-Qaida-linked Nusra Front are positioned in areas near the town.
Meanwhile, the Syrian cabinet has condemned the bombings, saying it will not dissuade the Syrians from confronting the terrorist groups.
Prime Minister Wael al-Halqi said "the terrorist acts aim to spread panic and terrorize the civilians to abrupt their daily lives."
