Sharm el-Sheikh - Arab Today

Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab asserted that the international community has realized that Egypt is going on the right track and should be supported after the launching of the Egypt Economic Development Conference (EEDC), currently in session here.
The premier's remarks were made after his meeting with Russia's Economy Minister Alexei Ulyukayev on the fringe of the EEDC.
Mahlab stressed that relations between Egypt and Russia are strategic and receive strong support from both peoples, pointing out that Egypt welcomes all forms of cooperation with Russia in various fields.
On the other hand, the Russian minister thanked Mahlab for the warm reception, pointing out that relations between the two countries are historical as they regained strength in light of the steps that Egypt has taken at the current stage.
The Russian minister voiced his admiration of the organization of the EEDC, voicing hope over increasing Russian investors in Egypt in the coming phase.
He also highlighted the current cooperation between Egypt and Russia in establishing a nuclear station in Dhaba district, noting that a Russian delegation has already inspected the location.
Mahlab, on the other hand, welcomed the Russian businessmen and tourists, noting that Russian tourism has mainly been targeting the Egyptian destinations.
