Kadim Alsaher shocked organizers of the hugely anticipated festival “For Egypt”, with his announcement that he would not be taking part in the festival. According to the artist, he feels the organizers lack seriousness about the event. A huge number of artists are taking part in the festival, which will honor Egypt and the revolution, as well as encourage the revitalization of the tourist industry. The fees of the performers will be donated to charity. Huge names in the industry announced that they would be taking part . Some of those artists include Wadih Alsafi, George Wassouf, Hisham Abbas, Najwa Karam, Rowaida Ateyeh, Mohammad Foad, and Fares Karam, in addition to Lebanese TV personalities Imad hawari and Lamitta Franjieh. Festival attendance is expected to be in the tens of thousands, and will take place at the Cairo International Stadium from the 21st to the 24th July.
