Dr Tareq Madani
Riyadh - Arab Today

No cases of Ebola or any other infectious diseases have been recorded among the pilgrims, the Saudi Ministry of Health has announced.
Health condition among the pilgrims "is currently assuring" and no cases of Coronavirus (Mers) have been found among the pilgrims performing this year's hajj services, said Dr. Tareq Madani, the Minister of Health advisor, said in remarks published by the local press on Saturday.
Dr. Madani confirmed that the ministry had taken extraordinary precautions to prevent outbreak of infectious diseases and called for abstention from slaughtering camels in the ritual sacrifice, after "being established that the currently registered cases were due to mingling with the camels." He added that the number of cases infected with Coronavirus "were dwindling," as compared to the March and April figures.
Number of Coronavirus cases since the 2012 outbreak has reached 755, including 320 patients who died, Dr. Madani said. Up to 427 patients had recovered and eight others remained under treatment.
Meanwhile, the pilgrims performed early today Eid Al-Adha prayers at the Sacred Mosque, the Prophet Mosque and other mosques in the kingdom, in the last phases of the annual rituals.
In the eid sermon, Sheikh Dr. Saad Al-Shuraim affirmed the great need for security and stability for the Muslim nation as a basis for progress and prosperity at various levels.
