Some 20 UAE nationals have undergone training at the Zayed Humanitarian Work Academy as part of the UAE's programme to prepare leaders in the humanitarian field of "EDAAD" (preparation), which is an initiative of Zayed Giving, a first-of-its-kind initiative in the Arab region.
The programme is aimed at training an exceptional generation of leaders in humanitarian action, in partnership with the Tadreeb National Training, Tadreeb, the Emirates Programme for Community Readiness, Dar Al Ber Society, Sharjah Charity International, and Saudi German Hospitals Group, by putting into practice an excellent model of humanitarian academic joint action.
The EDAAD programme targets the youth to train and empower them in humanitarian fields, locally and internationally, as per the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan to mark 2017 as the #Year of Giving and coinciding with #Zayed Humanitarian Work Day.
Dr. Adel Al Shameri, CEO of the Zayed Giving Initiative, said that the EDAAD programme targeted, trained and empowered thousands of youths in local and international humanitarian work. He added that 20 young people had gone through training in the Zayed Humanitarian Work Academy after concluding the theoretical training programmes, as well as field work in international camps of the Zayed Giving Initiative in Egypt, Somalia, Sudan and Zanzibar.
