Kuwait's aid to Yemen, aimed to alleviate the suffering of people, have touched the hearts of all Yemenis from various governorates, Yemeni Parliament Deputy Speaker Mohammad Al-Shadadi said Tuesday.
Al-Shadadi made his remarks to KUNA after meeting, alongside his accompanying delegation, with the Chairman of the Kuwait Red Crescent Society Dr. Hilal Al-Sayer.
He praised His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah's efforts in providing all sorts of humanitarian aid and achieving peace successfully.
The Yemeni deputy speaker also expressed his appreciation to KRCS's role in aiding the Yemeni people and providing relief, medical, and development assistances in various Yemeni governorates.
Al-Shadadi said he was briefed with KRCS's humanitarian programs and the volume of its current projects in Yemen, affirming such actions aimed to improve the humanitarian conditions in Yemen and are a source of pride.
He said his discussion with Al-Sayer also tackled ways to contribute to backing the health and water sector in his country, adding Yemenis are in desperate need for drinking water and energy sources, particularly solar energy.
The Yemeni authorities and humanitarian organizations, currently active in Yemen, have praised KRCS's programs, he said, noting the Kuwaiti society have been globally recognized for its international relief efforts.
For his part, Al-Sayer welcomed Al-Shadadi's visit to KRCS's headquarters, and expressed hope that KRCS's aid contribute to ending the suffering of Yemeni people.
KRCS will spare no effort in providing all types of humanitarian aid to Yemenis, he affirmed, noting he has highlighted the society's regional and international efforts to Al-Shadadi and his accompanying delegation.
Al-Sayer also mentioned the meeting touched upon KRCS's humanitarian and relief efforts inside and outside Kuwait as part of its humanitarian role performed at all levels.
Such generous initiatives aimed to support and back the Yemeni people, came at the directions of the Kuwaiti political leadership, headed by His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah, in order to meet the people's needs as much as possible and alleviate their suffering, said Al-Sayer.
He thanked various Yemeni institutions for their cooperation with KRCS in providing humanitarian aid in various Yemeni governorates, as well as helping to overcome all obstacles and facilitating the Kuwaiti society's mission.
