The Vice President of the Republic, Hassabou Mohamed Abdul Rahman, on Thursday briefed members of parliament on the plans set to collect all unlicensed firearms and the stages to be followed in the process as well as the steps taken so far.
The official spokesman for the council, Dr Abdul Magid Haroon, pointed out that the leadership of the legislature made a number of remakes that would help with the arrangements and procedures of the plan and would spare any negative repercussions, saying that Vice President commended the remarks made by the MPs.
He said the Minister of Interior has meanwhile briefed the MPs on the threats posed by the 4X$ trucks in flaming conflicts, smuggling drugs and other challenges.
The minister stressed that those who died because of the use of unlicensed firearms were far more bigger in numbers than those killed in the civil strife and those who died as a result of the war.
