Representing the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment, UAE Ambassador to Sudan, Hamad Mohammed Humaid Al Junaibi, participated in the extraordinary session of the fifth General Assembly of the Arab Organisation for Agricultural Development, AOAD, which was held in Khartoum on Sunday.
The General Assembly saw Sudanese Minister of Agriculture and Forestry, Prof. Ibrahim Adam Ahmed Al-Dekhairi, unanimously elected as the new AOAD Director-General for 2017-2021, succeeding Dr. Tarik bin Musa Al-Zadjali, who held the position from 2009-2017.
The UAE Ambassador also participated in the launch of the Arab Programme for Freshwater Aquaculture in Khartoum, one of the most promising projects in the field of Arab food security.
The session was attended by Dr. Kamal Hassan Ali, Assistant Secretary-General, and Head of the Economic Affairs Sector at the Arab League, and a number of Heads of Delegations of Arab Member States of the AOAD.
