Recognizing the efforts of the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority of the Kingdom of Bahrain ("TRA") which demonstrated the greatest commitment to developing regulations aimed at ensuring a secure and advanced telecommunications infrastructure, CommsMEA announced TRA Bahrain as a winner of the 13th edition of its Regulatory Initiative of the Year Award 2018 on November 14, in Dubai, UAE.
This award, won by TRA Bahrain comes in acknowledgement of its keenness towards prioritizing the deployment of public radiocommunications stations and the recent issuance of the Public Radiocommunications Stations Regulation. This is an essential step towards enabling the deployment of future wireless technologies using the state-of-the-art stations but in the same time considering public concerns and environmental impacts
TRA’s Acting General Director Shaikh Nasser bin Mohamed Al Khalifa, commenting on this occasion, said: "It gives me pride to receive this award which serves as a reminder of TRA’s and Bahrain’s persistent commitment to excellence and innovation. There is no doubt that this Regulation is placing the Authority in a pioneering position within the MENA region with respect to the effective deployment of wireless stations".
"The Regulation assigns TRA to deploy a fully automated permitting system that reduces the lead-time to market and encourages increased sharing practices of new and existing stations," he said.
