Council of Representatives Speaker Ahmed bin Ibrahim Al-Mulla said developing controls and procedures for public expenditure rationalization are made through consensus between the executive and legislative branches to conform with the royal directives.

The Speaker lauded the directives of HRH Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa and HRH Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, on restructuring the government subsidies to benefit eligible citizens, developing unified eligibility mechanisms and implementing the restructuring of the government subsidies as stated in the Government Action Plan (2015-2018).
He expressed the legislative branch's appreciation of the government’s response that reflects its keenness to maintain cooperation in the interest of citizens. He added consultative meetings will be held in coming days between the two branches to review the restructure of government subsidies, which will benefit low and medium income citizens.
