Palestinian Authority Prime Minister Salam Fayyad is suing a Palestinian lawmaker who claimed the premier had enlisted a British firm to provide his security, Ma'an learned Wednesday. Sources close to Fayyad said the premier filed a complaint against Palestinian Legislative Council member Najat Abu Baker over her claims he is guarded by a British company. Fayyad filed the complaint as a private citizen, they said. Abu Baker told Ma'an the attorney general had informed her that Fayyad was suing her over her statements. She said her diplomatic immunity as a lawmaker could only be lifted by the president and with the agreement of one-third of the Palestinian Legislative Council.
