Stress was laid on the need for enhanced efforts to create business and job opportunities for Omanis at a meeting of the Riyada Board of Directors.
The Board of Directors of the Public Authority for SMEs Development “Riyada” held its 2nd meeting for 2017 under the chair of Dr. Ali bin Mas’oud Al Sunaidi, Minister of Commerce and Industry, Chairman of the Riyada Board
The Board discussed continuing communication with entrepreneurs and identifying challenges facing them.
It also discussed utilising all services provided by Riyada to entrepreneurs through launching the video call service, in collaboration with Omantel, Entrepreneurs Club and Oman Chamber of Commerce and Industry (OCCI). The meeting also discussed activating the role of the Authority in all governorates.
The Riyada Board reviewed the executive programmes for the strategic document, which included the growth stages for the establishment, which was linked to the relevant stakeholders that support entrepreneurs.
The Board also stressed the need to enhance the efforts made to create business and job opportunities for Omanis through improving quality of their products and their competitive edge.
Additionally, the Riyada Board urged for considering the introduction of an index for the SMEs statistics, in collaboration with the Supreme Council for Planning (SCP) and the National Centre for Statistics and Information (NCSI).
The Board also urged for ensuring the sustainability of incubation programs by creating business opportunities with the private sector
