Riyadh - Arabstoday

A newly installed speed radar has been burnt by an unidentified person. The incident took place on Ghaleila road of Ras Khaimah in the early hours on Wednesday, a police officer told 'Gulf News'. The radar was installed only three days ago. This was a step taken as several accidents occurred in this area in the last few months. Ras Al Khaimah police was tipped of the incident by a local, alerting them of the radar fire. Several incidents of smashing of radars have taken place in Ras Al Khaimah. "We dont know the suspect in the current case and have no idea about his or her motivation," police said. Increased patrolling have been able to bring down the number of violators on the streets. The police said person responsible for burning the radar will soon be arrested.
