The Leadreship Office of the National Congress Party (NCP) discussed ecomomic measures taken within framework of the 2018 budget and took a package of measures and procedures.
NCP Deputy Chairman , Ibrahim Mahmoud said in a press statement after the meeting that the Leadership Office reaffirmed importance of measures being taken by Khartoum State to lessen burdens of economic measures on community , especially the vulnerable categories.
He stated that customs most of basic goods were exempted in the budget from customs duties mainly food stuff, petroleum, transport and spare parts.
Mahmoud further added the Office called for taking arrangements to curb the soaring prices and that a committee was formed for day-to-day follow-up how txo increase production and exports in coordination with the government.
He said the Office demanded the Government to set up different committees in this regard for finding radical solutions to problem of poor production and exports.
The NCP Deputy Chairman said the Office reaffirmed increase of cotton, sesame and other crops production and called for review of export policy as well as the government measure to buy gold via Central Bank of Sudan .
He added the Leadership Office gave directive for studying impact of power tariff on agricultural production.
