A Ras Al Khaimah criminal court sentenced on Wednesday an Asian man to death by firing squad for murdering his employer, a judiciary official said. The verdict was pronounced by Presiding Judge Yousuf Rajab on Wednesday, the official said. The suspect will be executed by firing squad after the sentence is upheld by the appeal and cassation courts, the official said. The official said the Court of First Instance reached its verdict after hearings details of the crime. The man was shocked to hear the verdict. He was crying and, unable to speak, he collapsed, the official added. The details of the case date back to 2010 when the Asian worker was accused of killing his sponsor at work after a heated argument which allegedly lead the man to smash his sponsor’s head with a steel bar. Police later arrested the man who pretended to be unaware of the incident. He was questioned and the case was referred to the public prosecution. Relatives of the victim insisted on the death penalty against the accused, the official added.
