The Shura Council lauded the achievements brought about by the legislative branch in the prosperous era of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa which assert success of the democratic march spearheaded by HM the King out of the leadership's belief in the importance of democracy as an approach and way of life.
In a statement marking the International Day of Democracy, observed worldwide on September 15 and celebrated this year under the theme "Democracy and Conflict Prevention", the Shura Council described the occasion as an opportunity to remind of unity and cohesion between the leadership and the Bahraini people reflected in voting on the National Action Charter which brought about a qualitative change in political work. The council also stressed the role of the charter in boosting the concepts of freedom, respect of other opinions and the principles of human rights which are considered as pillars of the modern state.
The Shura Council praised the high level of cooperation between the legislative and executive branches thanks to the care and support of His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier.
