The Kuwaiti cabinet on Thursday decided to set July 25 as the date for holding the country's parliamentary elections, state-run KUNA news agency reported. "The cabinet, at an extraordinary meeting today, approved a draft decree inviting voters to choose the members of the parliament on July 25," Minister for Municipal Affairs, Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah al-Sabah, said in a statement after the meeting. On Sunday, Kuwait's Constitutional Court decided to dissolve the National Assembly (parliament) and called for fresh elections. In a verdict, the Constitutional Court invalidated the parliamentary elections held last December which was boycotted by the opposition groups who cited flaws in election laws.
