Manama - Arabstoday

Kuwait's parliament opposition will not be able to garner the support of the 25 lawmakers it needs to force the prime minister to resign, a local daily said. Parliamentary insiders have suggested that the government is likely to obtain an easy majority of support from the country's lawmakers and only 18 to 20 MPs are reportedly willing to sign the no-cooperation motion, Kuwait Times reported. "There is no expectation that independent MPs would align themselves with the supporters of the no-cooperation motion against Prime Minister Shaikh Nasser Al Mohammed Al Sabah," the daily said, citing an unidentified source. Several anti-government MPs have already begun holding seminars in the third, fourth and fifth constituencies to pressure fellow parliamentarians who currently oppose the no-cooperation motion into changing their minds, the source said.
