His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa received in the presence of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al-Khalifa, Crown Prince Deputy Supreme Commander, at Gudaibiya Palace today, the GCC heads of Shura and Representatives and national assemblies , who exchanged greetings with HM, on the occasion of holding the 6th meeting of the heads of Shura and Representatives and national assembly Councils in Bahrain. They conveyed the greetings of the GCC leaders to HM the King and their wishes for Bahrain of further progress and Prosperity. HM welcomed them and lauded the strong historic relations linking the GCC countries in the various fields. HM also affirmed on the important role played by the GCC Shura and Representative Councils in enhancing the joint GCC work and strengthening relations between GCC countries and their people. HM also lauded the fine efforts exerted by the members of these councils in defending gulf issues, and uniting stances toward facing the various challenges. HM praised the achievements made by the Shura and representative councils in the political, cultural, social and economic fields that serve the aspirations of the people of the GCC. HM made reference to the contribution of the councils through cooperating with parliaments of the Arab countries and interacting with them on issues of Arab and international concerns. HM expressed best wishes to the head of the councils and success with their meetings and in enhancing cooperation and bonding among GCC countries. For their parts the head of GCC councils expressed their thanks and appreciation to HM the king for meeting them and for the facilities Bahrain provided to them in order to bring success to their meeting.
