Dr Anwar Mohammed Gargash, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, on Monday affirmed that the UAE-Egypt ties are deep-rooted and expressed the UAE’s sincere desire to further bolster historic and strategic bonds with Egypt in all walks of life. Dr Gargash made his remarks during a meeting with Egyptian Information Minister Salah Abdel-Maksoud, during which they reviewed ways of enhancing cooperation and coordination in areas of media and exchange of technical and human expertise. On his part, Abdel-Maksoud spoke about the media scene in Egypt and stressed his government’s determination to consolidate relations with the UAE. He said the UAE is the second largest Arab investor in Egypt. “Foreign investment from UAE forms a significant element in bilateral ties.” He also praised Emirati-Egyptian media cooperation and its positive impact on the brotherly bonds. Ahmad Abdullah Al Sheikh, Director-General of Government of Dubai Media Office; Sharif ?Al Bedaiwi, Egyptian Consul-General in Dubai; Manal Abdul Daim, Deputy Egyptian Consul; Abdul Rahman Al Shamlan, Director of Foreign Ministry Office in Dubai; and Ibrahim Al Abed, Director-General of UAE’s National Media Council, attended the meeting.
