Abu Dhabi - Arab Today

The Emirates Medicine Bank, EMB, is contributing to the free medical treatment for thousands of Rohingya refugees by increasing the pharmaceutical inventory in the mobile clinic and the UAE’s voluntary mobile field hospital under the supervision of voluntary Emirati and Bangladeshi doctors as part of the Year of Giving 2017.

The aid coincides with the one-million giving campaign under the title, 'Giving is Happiness'. The campaign is a joint programme of the Zayed Giving Initiative, Dar Al Ber Association, Sharjah Charity House and the Saudi-German Hospitals Group, in partnership with the Hope Foundation for Women and Children of Bangladesh.

Dr. Adel Al Shamri, Chief Executive Officer of the Zayed Giving Initiative and Chairman of UAE Doctors, said that the EMB is the first of its kind that aims at collecting medicines and medical equipment to be provided for indigent patients in mobile clinics and hospitals around the world.

He highlighted the Zayed Giving Initiative's keenness to adopt innovative ideas and transform them into a tangible reality that contributes to alleviating the suffering of needy groups in partnership with government and non-profit institutions.
