Cairo - MENA

Egypt's Mufti Shawki Allam urged security bodies, responsible for protecting citizens, public and private property, and protesters to refrain from violence and express their views peacefully. In a statement Sunday, Allam urged all sides not to use weapons against any one and exert efforts to protect the people and preserve public and private property in cooperation with security bodies. Egypt braced for mass protests Sunday with President Mohamed Morsi's opponents determined to oust him and his supporters vowing to defend his legitimacy to the end, on the anniversary of his first year in office.
