The Department of Municipal Affairs and Transport, DMAT, will hold a workshop for its stake holders in collaboration with the Abu Dhabi Chamber of Commerce and Industry, ADCCI, on regulations of licensing, hiring and using personal watercraft, PWC.
The workshop will take place at the ADCCI headquarters on 20th September, 2017, and is part of DMAT’s endeavours to enhance the quality of the maritime services offered to watersports enthusiasts.
Consultant Yousef Saeed Al Kuwaiti, Head of Regulations, Legislations and Polices Team, said that DMAT, along with its partners, works on enhancing the quality of maritime services and improving them in Abu Dhabi Emirate.
Al Kuwaiti added that the workshop is part of an awareness campaign DMAT is organising aiming at creating the suitable environment that supports maritime sport and activities based on high standards and practices in this field. In addition, the cooperation with ADCCI is an indicator of DMAT’s social responsibility towards others to enhance and improve the level of security in society. Part of this is to ensure that the private sector and general public are aware of the latest updates of the regulations regarding PWC to avoid violations.
He also urges all PWC drivers to comply with the regulations and signage put in place by DMAT.
