Lieutenant-General Dhahi Khalfan Tamim, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police, called for creating a fitting environment for UAE fishermen to practise the indigenous profession and save it from extinction as it reflects the history and culture of the UAE. Dhahi Khalfan stressed the need for adopting a transparent method to address the concerns of Emirati fishermen and solve them within specific time period, while receiving a delegation from the Dubai Fishermen’s Cooperative Association on Sunday night at his Ramadan majlis. More incentives should be offered to Emiratis to join the profession, he added. Mohammed Saeed Al Marri, Chairman of the Dubai Fishermen’s Cooperative Association, paid gratitude to Government of Dubai for meeting the demands of fishermen to pursue the profession of forefathers.
